Story Loomers exists to nurture a space where every individual, across generations, can tell, share, listen to and experience stories that connect us to ourselves, to one another and to the world around us.

An invitation to every kind of storyteller

We are building an inclusive platform to tell, listen to, share, explore and create stories. Story Loomers sits where culture, storytelling, community, personal development and leadership meet.

When we listen to another person’s story, we see the world through their eyes. When we tell our own, we understand ourselves a little better.

“Asharhe golpo” is what Bengalis call a story too wonderful to be true. Chandril Bhattacharya spins a set of them, live.

চেনা গল্পকে, কল্পনা আর বাস্তবের সীমানা মুছে চন্দ্রিল বাবু শ্রোতাদের নিয়ে যাবেন এক নতুন ভাবনার জগতে। গল্প বলার জাদু, কথার মায়া আর কল্পনার অনন্য মেলবন্ধনে অপেক্ষা করছে এক আশ্চর্য অভিজ্ঞতা। সেই গল্পের জাদুতে সামিল হতে চলে আসুন ‘আষাঢ়ে’ অনুষ্ঠানে। একেবারেই অভিনব এই অনুষ্ঠানটি এমনই এক অভিজ্ঞতা, যা আপনি ইউটিউবেও খুঁজে পাবেন না। যা ইউটিউবে নেই, সেই অনন্য অভিজ্ঞতা ‘আষাঢ়ে’ তেই।

What is Story Loomers?

Story Loomers is a storytelling community in Kolkata, India. It is a creative community, not a classroom: a place where people of every generation tell, listen to, share and create stories through conversation, literature, theatre, cinema, music and the visual arts.

Who can join Story Loomers?

Anyone with a story to find, including people who have never thought of themselves as storytellers: business professionals, teachers, students, retired people, artists, homemakers and entrepreneurs. No experience is needed. The invitation is simply to come and discover your own voice.

What is the next Story Loomers event?

Asharhe with Chandril Bhattacharya: an evening of gloriously tall tales, on Sunday, 15 November 2026, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Chowdhury House, 5/1 Gariahat Rd., Near Ballygunge Phari, Kolkata 700019. Tickets range from ₹300 to ₹499 (Silver ₹300, Gold ₹399, Platinum ₹499). Book on Thirdbell (thirdbell.in/events/ashare/). Video / audio recording is not allowed.
